Feathered friend. Keen to share my sandwich. Absolutely no idea what it is. Either my lunch or the local fauna. Bird obviously. That much even I’d grasped.

I cant identify the sandwich either but the bird is a Blue-faced Honeyeater (Entomyzon cyanotis)This bird is an immature as the bib is grey and not black and the bare skin area around the eye is yellow and not blue as in the adult. There are over 40 species of Honeyeater so quite a challenge for the British birder visiting Aus for the first time. Some more bird photos please.

Hi Mike – Sandwich probably my Tropics staple, rancid cheese – mustard helps but never quite masks the taste.. More feathered friend footage follows!
